Welcome to the Ameican Goetia.

From time to time, working occultists will experience what we refer to as a download. This is information received through spiritual sources. Unlike flashes of intuition these downloads contain a large amount of information pertaining to one topic. In my occult career I have received several of these. The most unusual came from a spirit of the Lesser Key of Solomon, also known as the Goetia.

The spirit Orobas is said to have the ability to provide true answers to the nature of the universe. The problem here is that I never asked the question. On January 1, 2008, I felt compelled to enter my temple space for a conversation with the spirit. We had enjoyed a working relationship for some time but never had I experienced him as intensely as I did during these talks.

What follows is a transcript of that conversation in which he introduced me to the American Goetia, an evocatory magical system of spirits born of North American lands. It includes the flattery most magicians would either not admit to hearing or simply omit from such a work. I’ve never been one to avoid the truth. I share of my entire experience that it may be judged accordingly. It was the flattery that caused me to put this work off until now. One should never trust a flattering spirit. However, I feel now that I have the necessary discernment to engage in this process.

My intention is to work with the spiritual system as it was revealed to me at the time making adjustments along with way. Once I have a full and complete system ready to reveal to the world, I will publish it in grimorie form.

My Conversation with Orobas January 1, 2008

Understand the lore this comes from. You may have to hear a few things and verify them before complete trust is achieved. You’ll also need to learn the lore of all to give you the confidence to reveal the system. You will miss things. Another will come to make them more clear in your lifetime. You will resist him. However, later you will come to understand. Being the revealer does not mean one has perfect knowledge only that you have been granted that knowledge before all else or at least in a new way.

The American Goetia is not new. It is born of the earth, deep of earth. It is only becoming active now. It is not tht the new Americans are evil and the natives were pure. The simple fact is you are different. They had different trials and powers and you are not they. You have a myth of your own. Your myths hide your truths instead of reveal them. They are your first blind. And this you allow in your schools. Foolishness.

I will reveal the patterns [of evocation], the myths, the styles. I will reveal sigils and seals and names but like our names [of the Goetia] the names are not real but what humans call us.

I will reveal these things and a greater secret but that will come in time. It is tht which binds these that concern us now.

The binder is hope. The hope these myths are true. The hope that we can escape from them for we know they are false, you know they are false, you simply don’t want to know the reality behind the myth. You don’t want to know the lie behind your mind.

The truth is great but seldom sought for. This book is for those that seek a truth. Not mine, not yours but theirs. And, more so, to those like you that seek even more. Fools you are. Fools, delightful fools, with little chance of success. Hope.

My name is Orobas and these are my words dictated to my servant in these acts. I am his familiar in all else. He has proven to be an extraordinary human., not in value, but in strange deeds. It is for these deeds that I freely offer and extend my loyalty and the powers of my office. Even now he has doubts about publishing this dictation, for he immediately saw the warning in my words and fears ridicule. More so, he sees a bad example for others. He is a fool, in a good way and a bad. That matters not.

The American Goetia is herein contained. It will not be buried but worked to the greater good if not to the lesser demise. Such as it is for all things truly magickal and of spirit rather than torment.
